Sydney, December 2010.

As part of the Roads and Maritime Services of NSW (RMS) type approval process for TSC/4 compliant Traffic Signal Controllers, ATC's ATSC4 Traffic Signal Controller has obtained SCATS Compatible Certificate.

This is a crucial step in demonstrating the ATSC4 meets all the criteria for connecting to the SCATS Adaptive Urban Traffic Control System.

SCATS is the leading adaptive coordination system for road traffic in urban cities and is deployed in many cities on all continents of the world.

ATC obtained this certificate after a long and very demanding testing schedule that provides prospective and current clients a high level of confidence in designing complex systems such as the ATSC4 Traffic Signal Controller.

Urban Traffic Control systems are complex systems that change the operation of traffic signal controllers timing at many intersections to ensure that the approaches with the highest volumes are serviced to ensure those approaches are cleared of traffic in a timely manner.

Any SCATS Urban Traffic Control system will benefit from this latest achievement in ATC's product development as its ATSC4 Traffic Signal Controller is working towards full type approval from the Roads and Maritime Services of NSW, Sydney Australia.

The ATSC4 Traffic Signal Controller has been deployed successfully by many traffic authorities around Australia since 2007, connected to their respective SCATS Urban Traffic Control Systems.
